The reason for my visit was an epic Uber fail when trying to go from the Holy Inadquate to the Bull's Head Burslem,I had no idea there were other Bulls Head's not far away.I was pleased to make the visit,we were welcomed by the friendly guv'nor and his wife and the few regulars inside also made us welcome.
It's a small pub amongst housing ,a quiet distraction from Hamley town centre. You enter into the tap room, looking tidy with some small bench seats in red velour,a small tv above the bar, then down a step to the pool room.Pop videos were playing at a modest volume. The guv'nor has many years experience running pubs in the area and has a sharp wit. There is no real ale as there just isn't the demand, despite the local CAMRA branch trying to tell him otherwise.A predictable keg selection of mainly lagers, the guiness taps don't dispence and the Nitrosurge cans were used instead.
A proper boozer and a good spot for a quiet drink in cosy surroundings as long as you don't want real ale.

The Bulls Head is a small smart looking pub that is a short walk from the Golden Cup,the pub is situated opposite Central Forest Park in a fairly quiet area.
A sign outside the pub said cask ales so i was looking forward to doing this pub.
Once inside there was a single room that was quite narrow, the bar was on the left side, there was bench seating to the front and opposite the bar with normal tables and chairs, the rear area was down a small step, the room was carpeted throughout.
Despite the sign outside there were no real ales on the bar and all beers were served from those horrible silver fonts which looked out of place in a small pub like this.
I had a drink of Grays smooth which was better than i thought it would be.
The pub was quite busy with older drinkers.
This is a locals pub that was let down by having no real ales on the bar.

Hi Guys
What can i say about the Bulls Head its just outside the centre of Hanley so it still maintains an air of being a family run pub while the busy nightlife of Hanley is a stones throw theres nothing i like more than having the choice of a wacky night out in the town centre or depending how i feel a nice warm cosy drink in my local with lots of friendly people well i get the best of both worlds with the Bulls Head its a family run pub and your allways guaranteed a warm welcome with Jimmy and Pauline at the helm
