Very surprised I havent reviewed before, as its one of my go to places in Manchester. I love it.
The music - which is always excellent - is pumped into the street above, luring you (well me) in and down the stairs to a former subterranean toilet that has had the most minimal of make overs.
Then its all dinge - formica tables, low ikea tea light lighting, a jukebox - that after me putting in loads over the years and rarely getting my tunes on - has a sign on it saying "f*cked". The narrowest of VIP areas along the side of the bar.
Along with the music, its the people that make this place. Great for people watching.
And they do Coniston Bluebird in bottle. I've watched the price increase over the years to the current £4.50.

Temple is a converted public toilet that is now a small bar and live music venue. Tuborg, Estrella, Krombacher, Somersby cider, Guinness and another couple of keg products are available from the bar. There is a jukebox that was playing some background music. I thought this place was a bit grim and the dimly lit red hue didn’t help. I’m all for trying something new and I like a quirky bar, but I’ll not be returning here.

As noted, this used to be a public toilet. Once you get over the novelty if what it used to be it quickly becomes apparent that the only reason to visit here is just for the novelty value. Its tiny and dark. A tiny bar doesn't do real ale and Guinness is probably your best bet. Posters of some bands are on the wall and due to the size its obviously a bit cramped. Its definitely not a long stay destination but go just to say you've had a pint and a piss in a public toilet.
