A new(ish) BCA-acquired pub; a rambling place that feels like a TV adaption of an upmarket 70s boozer; wonky timbers, carpet and some glasswork (apparently it has been de-furbed from a more gaudy décor from its Firefly days). Bar is at the far end with the usual BCA offering and guests; the place comes with a GBG listing. Both of mine - BCA Fireside and Bewdley Worcester Way - were fine if not spectacular, both a tad warm to really excel (NBSS 3). Cobs available as is standard in BCA pubs and mine was tasty. Helpful and friendly barman set the atmosphere. Very busy at 5.30pm Good Friday, unlike some nearby outlets. 7.5

Whilst travelling towards Hereford city centre, my partner and I decided to call in at the Orange Tree, which was acquired by Black Country Ales in 2022.
The Orange Tree is a modern pub, but it has a traditional feel about it. There are 12 hand pumps, 10 ales 4 of which are Black Country Ales, and 2 ciders. To gaze upon the row of highly polished hand pumps, is like being a child in a sweet shop. The Bar Man who served us, was extremely helpful and allowed us to sample some of the ales, before we opted for Pig on the wall, and later Fireside. They were both in perfect condition, and served at the right temperature.
Food is available in the form of cobs, pork pies, scotch eggs and sausage rolls. The cobs are supplied by a local bakery, and are highly recommended. The Orange Tree is a must for any real ale enthusiast.
