Please be aware when visiting The Gun Inn that pushchairs and prams are not banned from the premises. We merely advise that people use the entrance to the left hand side of the building as it has a wider access to the family rooms and garden. The bar area is very small and does not allow people to pass through with pushchair when full. We are sorry if the signage is confusing. Please feel welcome to visit with a pushchair or pram, all we ask is that you use the side entrance. As for the pub being empty, this gentleman must have come on a freak day as the pub is usually a thriving hub of activity with a roaring local trade. Thanks for taking the time to read this and we hope to see you soon. Thanks The Gun Inn

Located on the shingle bank, behind Hurst Spit, this is the most westerly Public House, within hailing distance of the Solent.

The menu has lots of superb local fresh crab and fish on offer, together with a broad range of modern pub food.

However something has happened to the Gun. The sign at the front door, banning prams and pushchairs, for what is the only pub after long walk, perhaps is indicative of a non welcoming attitude that saw a hostelry more empty than it should otherwise havebeen. This should be a focal point of the villagers and sailing community, but sadly this appears not to be so. march 05
